A Squarespace designer will customize your website to amplify your brand, support your online presence, and help you meet your business goals.
Typically, a designer starts by learning about your business or organization, the industry you're in, and what your goals are for your site. They'll ask about what content you want on your site and what assets you have available, including a logo (if any), photography, and text that describes your goods/services.
Often designers will present a mockup of a proposed design (colors, fonts, layouts, and structure of the site) and then get your approval of the design before they begin building it. Depending on the complexity (number of pages, shop or no shop, number of images) your site could take anywhere from 1-8 weeks to complete (in general.)

Every project starts with an introductory call (or email) where we can get to know each other. We'll give an overview of our business and services and you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions. If you decide you'd like to move forward then we will send you a contract and a deposit invoice.
Next, we'll send you a questionnaire that delves more deeply into your goals and vision for your site. We'll also send a list of all the items we'll need from you to get started - images, text, access to your existing site, etc. The content gathering phase can feel challenging - we're here to help! Once all your content is ready, your project is scheduled and the design and build of your site begins.
For the initial design phase, we'll send a mockup of your home page. Once we have your approval, we'll move into building the rest of your site. The design process is spelled out in a detailed timeline and gives you ample opportunity to review and offer feedback as we proceed.
When the design is complete and final approval is achieved, we'll send you the hand-off invoice and then take the final steps: connecting the domain name, setting up your account on Squarespace, and scheduling a tutorial call.

Yes! You will be able to update your site on your own. Squarespace makes it easy to change out images, update text, modify your products, and more. On the other hand, if you'd like to make sure that your content stays fresh and you always have someone on hand to make a change when you need it, we also offer monthly maintenance packages.
We sometimes use custom code to achieve the results you're looking for. When we hand off your site to you, you'll receive a full tour showing where the custom code is, what it affects, and how to change it. When your site is complete, we offer a simple one-hour training session for those parts of your site that will need to get updated most often, and any other tips and tricks you'd like to learn.
